Abby auditioned for her school talent show and was chosen along with a small handful of other students. During the big performance on stage, she hooped to Marcy's song, "Hula Hoop" on the Bon Appetit! CD. It was an awesome, full of tricks and challenging moves. The crowd gave Abby a HUGE amount of applause. Congrats!

The dynamic duo give a workshop to Jr. High Band students in Washington State last week while there for the Dusty Strings Banjo Weekend. The kids loved the cello banjo and banjo uke-of course, they also loved the electric guitar! The students were all band instrumentalists, but several said they play uke and guitar at home. They'd never met GRAMMY winners before.

This is a good as a compliment gets from a Jr. High School student:

"I'm not really into Bluegrass, but I really admire and feel how much [Cathy
& Marcy] care and enthusiasm they have; how professional they are. I'm
definitely inspired by what great musicians they are."
            --- 9th grade band member.

Marcy Marxer is investigated by a police officer who is not sure it is legal to play an electric cigar box guitar on the steps of the Library of Congress. She avoided arrest and rocked out with the Guitar Boogie.

Come hear the cigar box electric guitar, sing and play along with us this Saturday, celebrating Arbor Day. We are planning a BIG band at the end with whatever the audience brings to play-washboards, spoons, shakers, you name it. It’s a FREE FAMILY CONCERT  at  2pm.
